Thanks. I missed that one (largely due to the fact that I stopped visiting that site due to pop-up ads which defy some of my blockers). But hey, at least the Mac news world is starting to cover it!

For what its worth, I emailed a few of the other ones I expected to see this story covered on and suggest they &quot;get with it.&quot; Let&#039;s hope they do!</description>

		<description>One big fail in the standard installer for Mac:  it checks the CPU ID string and rather than going ahead UNLESS it sees a PPC chip, it checks only for very specific chip IDs that would be in an Apple-made machine, and if it doesn&#039;t find them, wrongly assumes that it thus must be a PPC.  My MSI Wind, hacked to run OSX, runs an Atom but the Notes client thinks it&#039;s a PPC merely because it&#039;s not a CoreXDuo.  Fail.</description>
