FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

What are Help Center’s hardware/software requirements?
Help Center is designed to take advantage of Notes 7.X, however it runs on Lotus Domino server 6.0 or higher. As long as the hardware/software of your server runs Lotus Domino 6.0, it’ll run Help Center.
How much disk space does Help Center require?
Help Center’s database requires only 8MB. However, as you add files to the knowledgebase, the size of this database will increase. If you choose to index the database for faster searching, the disk requirements will also increase.
Can I customize the issue/ticket wizard in Help Center?
Sure! Many aspects of Help Center are designed to be easily customized through “keyword” views. If these are insufficient for your needs, you can also access the database in Domino Designer to make additional customizations.
How much does Help Center cost?
I am in the process of transitioning the source code for Help Center to the next version which will be available for download at no cost. This version contains many U.I. improvements and takes advantage of new features available in Notes 7.x, however it will still run on Notes 6.x (and above) and Domino 6.x, just without some of the U.I. enhancements.
How will my company gain ROI from the purchase of Help Center?
The modules of Help Center have been designed to help your organization reduce support calls time, improve communications, manage assets and streamline the operations of your support center. Features such as the Knowledge Management module will help you better track knowledge acquired from resolving issues. This is then used to offer end-users a self-service option while submitting new issues. This all adds up in an overall reduction in the number of issues your support staff has to resolve.
How do I configure Help Center?
Help Center comes complete with documentation that walks you through each step of the installation and configuration process. I have even included a “best practices” area based on studies conducted on organizations with highly effective support centers.
