Project Overview
Even the best applications can quickly fail if they are not communicated
to the target audience in a way that's clear, concise and compelling.
A
great way to minimize the learning curve is to leverage a
targeted training program. Training sessions and materials aid
in making the target audience feel more comfortable with a new
system which increases their willingness to use/learn it.
In-house training efforts allow for a faster rate of adoption
because the materials are targeted to address the specific needs
of the organization. This is usually a low-cost option if
you utilize readily available tools such as Microsoft Word and
PowerPoint, projectors and even test environment systems.
The
examples to the right are components I developed to address
specific IT initiatives. In each case, employees reported the
materials and training classes to be relevant and helpful.
Server statistics confirmed the adoption rate
(percentage of employees who immediately used the system) was
typically 90% within the first week of a new system launch.
